Terrible bait-and-switch packages. I built a temporary site while the business was getting started, intending to use Wix Studio for the main site. But it turns out they’ve split Wix into separate platforms, Wix Editor and Wix Studio, with no way to transfer between them. Now I’m stuck with the basic, limited, and frankly childish tools of Wix Editor.If I want to move to Wix Studio, which finally has the minimum features any professional website needs, I have to pay again. I stopped using Wix for my clients 10 years ago, and now I’m painfully reminded exactly why.

I recently paid a website designer through 99Vista to build my site using Wix, after taking the time to research and decide it was the best option for me.Initially, I was happy with the design and could see from the traffic that the website was starting to gain some traction. While it wasn’t performing as well as I’d hoped, it was at least moving in the right direction. I’ve continued to pay all ongoing subscription costs and even invested additional money into improving the SEO.However, I’ve now been told that due to system updates, I’m required to pay an additional $700 NZD just to upgrade my website. This is extremely disappointing. I have met all my financial obligations, and this feels like an unfair and unexpected cost so soon after having the site built.In my view, this is poor business practice for an existing, paying customer. These kinds of upgrades should be covered by the platform—especially for customers who have only recently invested in their service.I do not recommend Wix based on this experience, and I strongly advise others to be aware that unexpected costs like this can arise.

I originally signed up for this plan last year for a school project. I added my bank card to a group member’s account only to activate a free Premium code provided by my professor. After the project ended, I stopped using the service and no longer needed the website, but Wix still automatically renewed the subscription and charged me $468.I contacted customer support immediately to explain that I am a student, I no longer use the service, and they refused to provide a refund for the renewal charge.This felt very unfair, especially since I reached out right away after seeing the charge. If you use Wix, make sure to monitor your subscription settings carefully, because their renewal and refund policy could leave you stuck with a very large charge.

Charging us automatically, when we weren't looking to renew and now they won't refund us. Best part is, we have multiple subscriptions with them, and now we'll have to cancel them all, because who'd want to work with this company? :) From what we're noticing from the reviews, so many other users had the same experience. Watch out!

I am extremely disappointed with Wix. A year ago, I added my bank card to a group member's account only to activate a free premium code provided by my professor for a school project. I was never informed that the plan would automatically renew.When Wix quietly charged me $509 without my knowledge or consent. I requested a refund. Wix refused, citing their policy, completely ignoring the fact that I never intended to purchase a plan in the first place. This practice feels predatory, especially toward students. A $509 charge for an automatic renewal I had no control over is unacceptable. Wix's refusal to consider the actual circumstances shows a lack of fairness and customer care. I strongly advise others to double-check any auto-renewal settings before linking a payment method.

Wix autorenewed me after I chose not to auto renew. They separated the charges and, messaging them the day after, they refuse to refund me $300 for a service I have no intent on using.There system is purposefully deceptive and their help team is unhelpful, ignoring contract laws of other countries (that do override their contract, but they will refuse to acknowledge that.)

I was required to make an additional payment to fix security issues on the top of the business premium plan I signed up. You would assume all security measures would be covered under "Business Premium Plan. Oh man, I was completely blindsided as It does not work that way. I had to cough up almost $500 to fix security measures which Wix claimed I had within my business page. This is so unfair. I will not do business with them in the future. BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
