Universal Studios Hollywood is great, for most things, and has great people. But they 1. Claim they are a no-tipping park, yet they 2. Allow the Three Broomsticks restaurant (in Hogsmeade) to guilt-tip, guilting people into “tip” at the register—AFTER you pay, before service. When I’ve questioned them, saying I don’t like to have to declare that I will or won’t tip, they say it’s all over the park, a lie, because it’s not. This is an unkind, dishonest way to pressure people into paying more. I’ve discussed it with management; the practice is allowed to continue, guilting customers into increasing revenue.

This park is worth your money. MUCH cheaper than Disneyland, the people are nicer, best show around in Waterworld—ave the back lot tour is THE BEST. It’s real, takes you through movie making history, James Stewart, Steven Spielberg, Jaws, the Metro section…where they film movies. No less than 3 Tyranosaurus rexes Try to kill us on Slull Island, but King Kong defeats them and saves us. But seriously, the back lot tour is real, movie history and in the making… And there are other atmosphere things, with excellent entertainment.

Universal Studio is involved in a huge money laundering scam. This is the film division. They run ads on Facebook looking for part time workers to review movie shorts. Once signed up they send you 3 set of films to review and actually pay you $30 US or so. Next day you pay $50 and do your 3 sets of film review. The catch is there are these films they call Superior films and they supposedly pay up to 33 times the regular pay. When you receive these superior films you cannot move any further without paying for that superior film. For the first 3 days I would pay a few hundred and make a profit of $150 or so. On the forth day these superior films started to get extremely expensive and customer service kept saying don’t worry you will triple your pay today. I ended up investing $2500 that day and was asked to send another $4499 to complete the films and they would send me $12:000 US.Thats when I figured I was being scammed. I asked for my money back but they refuse to pay it unless I pay $4499. This is a terrible scam. I read a post yesterday where a lady was scammed for $10.000. I reported this directly to Universal Studios and they say they do not have a dept that does this. There is quite a few people involved in this scam. Be very aware if you see these ads on Facebook

The "cast" throughout the park were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley was delightful, but the initial directions on what to expect and when to leave were lacking in specifics.I wore an authentic Starfleet Admiral's uniform from TOS movies, and was acknowledged by the cast as "Admiral", and that was nice; however...The experience of "Red Alert", the 'interactive' experience was extremely disappointing. There was no 'immersive' experience. It had been presented as one which would include you in an episodic experience, but when be transported in a shuttle, you didn't even know you were on a shuttle unless you looked behind you as you exited the area, where a shuttle facade outlined the hall you had walked through. There was no one piloting the shuttle, and all you saw was a streaming starfield, which, evidently, indicated you were traveling through space. After being funneled through sickbay...why? no real reason, you were taken to the engine room where an anticlimactic antimatter surge seemed to correct itself. As 'interactive' guests. you were told, "Don't touch anything", even though the tour videos put out by bloggers allowed to film to lure you in showed guests inputting things into the Enterprise D control panels. You were rushed from one set to another, and barely given any time to take in what was happening. You were just "visitors in danger". Of what? After being ushered onto the bridge (yes, this set was impressive) we had a thrown-in-your-face 'first contact' experience. The lower area of the bridge was barred and roped off, and only three cast members allowed. There was very little time to take any photos or take in the experience. Universal Studios should have the resources to put together a much more authentic "immersion". I went to the Las Vegas "Star Trek" Hilton several years ago, where it felt like we were truly "transported" from the hotel directly to the Enterprise D transporter room. After what was truly an immersive experience, we were put onto shuttles and 'flown' back to the hotel where we disembarked onto a truly separate area and led down to an exit within the hotel. Universal needs to upgrade their "immersive experience" or I would NOT recommend going out of your way to go there. My most impressive part of the experience was fellow Trekkers asking to take photos with me in the authentic uniform I was wearing.

was attacked by 3 women in the staff, knocked me out, I woke up without my family in a private room, and the 3 women were striping, I WAS SCREAMING TO HELP, where a big security guard called mark, busted in and punched them so hard, they have face conditions now. Then after that there was a shooting. goodbye.

Great experience and holiday vacation for any family. While the costs do add up, I think the memories made are well worth it. Splurge and enjoy yourself!

I love coming here each and every time. My favorite place and would rather come here than Disneyland. However, I do prefer the old king kong over the CGI one, but oh well.
