We made a mistake with booking

We made a mistake with booking , did not want to cancel just bring booking forward one day , complete joke! Trivago and Hotel Sofitel are rubbish l no customer service to speak to , all done with emails which not replied too.!! We also find out Trivago were trying to take money from my wifes account for a so called subscription which she didnt sign up to. Nation wide fraud dept flag this up and blocked them. My advice steer clear of Trivago

Extra fees make a deal NOT a deal

Booked what seemed like a deal for a hotel. Hotel charged fees, yes they said they might in the fine print, but once they were done, I could have just booked another hotel for a better deal. Wouldn't have minded so much if they hotel had done anything for the addnl fees, instead they deactivated everyone keys around 7 am. So everyone had to go back down after breakfast and get them reactivated. (Spoke to other guests in the hall that said the same thing)

Do not book through Trivago- Algotels

Do not book through Trivago- Algotels. It is impossible to get any help at all from either company when you want to cancel a completely refundable booking. Just automated responses and no cancelation. Until you have to take it to your bank to log a payment dispute. Complete scam! Ibis hotels and Expedia are supposedly reputable companies, but will not help either. They are happy to take the money even though they can clearly see Algotels not responding to cancellation requests.

Booked 3 x dbl bed apartments for 6 adults in Portugal for 60th birthday celebration all paid up.Unexpectedly one of the couples passed away at 60 unexpected, devastated for everyone is an understatement. I approached Trivago Deals to see if I could help his wife and get a refund on their apartment. Told not a chance, no empathy shown at all standard email reply. Exceptional circumstances don’t count.

More like a quarter star.I found Algos hotels through trivago and booked through Algos, didnt look up reviews first. that won't happen gain. So booked had to cancel due to life threatening medical issue, I applied for refund, sent every thing they asked for medical notes from doctors hospital bill and still denied kept having people talk with me thru emails. this place is a complete scam, as I looked into the hotel they were to book for me i found that they never even booked the hotel. I would have had no where to stay. Still making an effort for a refund with no expectations. I found this through TIVAGO, I will also never use them again, I did check trivago and worst vacation decision ever. Go with a name you know, Trivago needs to vet the companies they advertise, they don't. I was scammed out of $1100.

Here is my issue...

here is my issue...I tried to inform Trivago that the checkin dates where wrong. when I called them the automated response was high call volumes we will call you in a couple of hours. A couple of hours past with no response, I emailed them again saying I did not receive a call. No response. The next day I get an email saying that they would try but strict regulations makes it hard to change, They wanted to know what dates I wanted. So I emailed the dates. I then got an email stating they were sorry they could not accommodate my request. so I have to pay for my honest mistake, when I called immediately try to correct the mistake.If they would have gotten back to me within the same day...This may of been resolved. I am stuck paying for a room in Charlotte 30th to 31st, I won't be there until the 13th of April.

Good luck getting a refund

I had booked six nights at a hotel for my son's provoncials hockey tournament. Being that it was sports, the time frames will change once the final schedule is released - which in this case, was a week before. I contacted Trivago to modify stay to 3 nights instead of 6. They said it was past the cutoff to modify my stay and wouldn't refund me. However, they said if I could get the hotel to refund the 3 extra nights, they would consider it. Well, the hotel modified my stay no problem and only charged Trivago for 3 nights. Trivago has yet to issue my $500 refund three weeks later and counting. I should have just booked directly with th hotel. Wish I had never checked Trivago...

This is the second and the last time…

This is the second and the last time Trivago fooled me, they rent rooms that are not what they describe on their website, we rented a large rooms with balconies or exterior access from the room with two beds, the pictures and description of hotels was beautiful large and clean rooms with all kinds of amenities but in reality it was all lies once you enter the rooms you’re not getting what you payed for. Our last stay in Val D’Or Quebec at Park Hotel was one of the worst, we were charged almost $350 for a room while the people in the room beside us payed $150 for the same room. The room we got was the complete opposite of what we rented, the two double bed was actually one small double bed in a smelly and dirty extra small room. In the description of the hotel on Trivago website say they had night gowns slippers a table with two chairs coffee maker. None of was true, we booked for two people in the room we got one towels and one face cloth two old flat stained pillow and nothing else not even a coffee maker, if the saying that goes “you get what you pay for” was real i would have gotten a room that match the description in a Hilton not a run down small room in a mediocre Hotel. The first time Trivago fooled us was our stay in Gatineau Qc, i didn’t say anything then thinking it was just a mistake, now i realize that it’s getting to be the rule. I tried to contact Trivago, but they won’t take responsibility, they told me to deal with the Hotel. Thanks for the tip Trivago, next time that’s exactly what i will do deal directly with the hotel i will never use Trivago again, why use dishonest middleman when you can deal directly with the hotel, get better deals and better rooms. The funny part is the people in the room beside us who payed $150 for a night thought they got scammed for the room they got for $150, they said their room was not worth $150, the face they made when i told them i was charged $350 said it all. Now It’s obvious to me that Trivago will never give me my money back, they won’t even help or talk to me, they let their AI deal with problems and i think their AI is also dishonest and programmed to tell everyone it’s not Trivago’s problem, deal with the hotel he said.

Trivago representative was rude

Trivago representative was rude, inefficient and useless! I paid the VIP customer service and I still wait for 20 min to get the rep hang up on me!!!!

I will never again book through…

I will never again book through Trivago. I accidentally made my reservation for Tuesday March 17, tried to flip it to Monday March 16. I knew the Best Western had openings after first calling them. Sent email, called etc and they said they would get back to me. Never got back to me. Customer service is nonexistent! Besides, when I checked into the Motel on Monday; it was about the same price. So much for a deal through Trivago. That’s ok, I might have lost $138, but the bad reviews I’ve given them to my family and friends has lost more for them.
