Bad experience. My flight was canceled due to bad weather condition at final destination, not my fault. No willingness to help, just talking about on policy. Not possible to change reservation. Refund almost 0.

I used to be a good customer of them (probably before they got acquired by Booking.com). I liked the fact that you could use their full coverage, which was much cheaper than the one at the rental companies. But my last experience with them convinced me to never use their services again. I had reserved a car for 07.02.2026 at Bergamo Airport with OK Mobility (another poor choice as a rental company...). They refused to give me the car because in the Rentalcars I hadn't written my full name. Rentalcars refused to change the name because the time was past my reservation time (by 10 minutes...). So they charged me 90 euros for cancelling this reservation - equivalent to no show. I had to make another reservation - for Centauro Auto, for a much bigger price (it was the Olympics period, cars were in high demand). I went to Centauro Auto office (had to take their shuttle, took a while). Once I arrived there, the people at the counter said they had no cars! They had 30 reservations and only 3 cars. So we went back to the airport and reserved directly another car, at an astronomical price this time... The problem with Rentalcars is they charged me 90 euros for that full name issue, but also they are not returning what I paid for the second reservation, which I couldn't use. Almost two months have passed and the money hasn't been returned. Their support is generic and I don't feel empathy and true help. As a consequence, I will never use their services in the future and would advise anyone against doing it.

We could not change our booking from 10.00 to 8.00, we tried to do it through the website as they suggest but website did not work, we could not reach them through telephone or other communication methods. After reaching through they wouldn't let us change the booking.

Oh, how I wish I'd read reviews here before booking my car through rentalcars.com. Stay away! Worst experience EVER. Booked the car, paid for it up front for the week's rental, arrived after an overnight flight to a foreign airport with rentalcars.com rental voucher in hand, presented it to rental car company, and they tell me that there is no such reservation. I call rentalcars.com from the rental counter, spend over a half hour with customer service who - in spite of multiple requests to speak to a manager - tell me there is nothing they can do, basically "tough luck, no we can't help you today with the booking and can't help you make another, but would you like 15% off your next rental?". So I had no choice but to rent a car on the spot directly at the counter and pay the going daily rate (literally 5 times what I had paid for the original reservation). Then rentalcars.com would not refund what I paid them. Had to go through my credit card company to finally get the refund.

DONT book here. We made a reservation through Rentalcars.com. When we arrived AVIS told us our card is not accepted and they cant modify it. We called rentalcars.com and they said they can NOT cancel NOR modify. NO CAR, MONEY GONE!

had a serious issue with Rentalcars.com’s partner in the USA (Dollar). Despite having a confirmed booking, Dollar refused to give me the car. A very stressful situation.Rentalcars.com, however, was exceptional.I reached a real human agent within minutes, and he immediately took ownership of the problem. He helped me cancel the original booking and arranged a smooth rebooking on the spot.Afterwards, the customer service team followed up proactively, resolved everything in no time, and refunded all additional costs I had because of Dollar’s mistake.Super fast responses, super friendly staff, and a level of support that went far beyond what I expected.They solved everything to my fullest satisfaction.Highly recommended — this is how customer service should be!

I made a booking and then needed to extend it. I read the instructions and it said to go to "manage my booking". I did that and had a prompt screen for email and booking ref number ehihc I filled in and was told to go to my inbox and open a new email and click the secure link sent to access my account. Sadly all that link did was to offer me the same email address and booking ref boxes to fill. Did this 6 times both on the app and PC. I then utilised the chat help which was equally useles and sent the same link with teh same results. Do NOT book through this company - their online system does not function

Booked a car through Rentalcars.com but was refused at pickup because I didn’t have a physical credit card - something not clearly stated in the confirmation email (it only said “credit card in driver’s name” - which I had, just virtual).Had to rent from another company right next door with no issues, but at 3x the price.Customer service was poor: multiple agents, template replies, no real answers, and no refund—even after they acknowledged unclear communication during the booking, they apologized for that, but still no refund.For anyone from RentalCars reading this - the case number is: 754135012Be careful - important requirements are not clearly communicated.

(1 star)Very disappointed with this company – the cancellation process is completely misleading and highly unprofessional.I had to cancel my booking because I was allocated an electric vehicle, which was not suitable for an urgent trip to visit my father in hospital in Manchester.The real issue, however, was the cancellation process itself. The original booking reference I was sent (1200633756) simply did not work, meaning I couldn’t cancel the booking at all. I spent over an hour trying to resolve this, only to then be given a completely different reference (782 904 821) by EuroCar, which finally allowed me to cancel.This is incredibly confusing and clearly a flaw in their system.Despite all of this, I am now being charged £212. Given the circumstances and the time wasted trying to cancel using the incorrect details they provided, this feels completely unfair.The whole experience has been frustrating, stressful, and far below any reasonable standard of service.I will not be using this company again and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking, any 3rd party booking for car rental.. go direct its cheaper and better customers service with real people who really care and understand
