STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY! The boxes were delivered damaged. Often missing ingredients or of poor quality. Missing recipe cards often. Unresponsive customer service tickets. Little to no compensation for undelivered products.

I had nothing but problems…

I had nothing but problems with this company from the jump. They sent me a box I didn't order of stuff I didn't like, they sent me a second box missing the proteins and had MOLDY PRODUCE! I fought with the company up the chain enough to finally get the second box refunded, but I had MULTIPLE emails, chats and phone calls to finally get there. Ridiculous layout of the recipes - hard to follow - and the options are unappealing at best. Never again.....

Garbage

Garbage do not order from these people. They’re a scam. Your blank your bank will block the transaction and they’ll continue running it running it running it running it until they find an open opportunity to snag your money. You’ll tell them do not leave the box outside and they’ll leave it out anyways I came home 30 hours later and the box was outside my house unthaw ants on it when I got home opened it up. It was nothing that I ordered. I emailed them instantly. They gave me a $15 credit. I’m not happy with it. I told him they could pick their food back up or where do I ship it back to they denied give me my money back so beware I wouldn’t order from this company there’s other companies that are way better and way cheaper.

Terrible taste!

The quality already prepared meals is very bad. They are bland, vegan options do not have enough protein or calories, fish options- smell very fishy, dry as a cardboard. Chicken dishes have no flavor. Also, veggies have the smell of a serious freezer burn. I called customer service and asked how Martha Stewart approved these. Oh, she is no longer associated with this company. Also, good luck with cancellations. Because we did not cancel the same day the box of food arrived, we have to get another box of it and pay for it too. It is ridiculous. Stay away from this company.

THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE WRONG BOX

-their site isn't the easiest to navigate -i asked for vegan, low calorie, etc. i realized the box that WAS GOING TO BE SHIPPED, wasn't what I had requested. it had meat in it. i called to tell them they were GOING TO SHIP the wrong box, but i was told i couldn't have all of what i wanted, it was low cal, so that was good enough. i told them not to ship it, because i wouldn't eat it and i would throw it away. i was told no, they were shipping it anyway. i asked them to refund my money for that box, since i wouldn't eat it, I was told no!

Marley Spoon is a rip off!!!

Marley Spoon is a rip off!!!! I didn’t even select any meals after viewing what they offered!!!! My family is very picky and have many allergies. I cancelled my subscription and account. They charged my card for almost $200.00 and will not refund my money!!!! They are sending out a box that I DO NOT WANT & DID NOT ORDER!!!! The stuff they are sending let’s just say a dog would not eat it!!!! I have sent them many emails and NOTHING is being done!!!! They are the WORST BUSINESS that I have ever delt with!!!! Do Not Try!!!! They’ll rip you off and send stuff that you didn’t pick/order!!!!

Horrible customer service but in the end they made it right

Mixed bag on recipes - some are totally forgettable, some are delicious. Quality of ingredients varies widely. My last box had THREE rotten ingredients, and was missing an ingredient and recipe cards. Every order had minor issues but I considered this major. I tried to contact them immediately but guess what? They don't work weekends and don't have ANYONE cover for customer service. I asked for a FedEx label to return the box but when I finally spoke to someone, they more or less said tough luck, here's a few bucks refund, and washed their hands of the whole matter. HORRIBLE customer service. I cancelled the service, then got a form letter email from the CEO, asking for feedback, which I happily provided. The CEO (or her admin) didn't even bother to reply.I've contested the charge with my credit card company and of course cancelled my service. I will note that I tried them once before and the exact - EXACT - same thing happened. They don't give two flips whether their customers are satisfied or not. I recommend you steer clear of this shady company.UPDATE 2/13/26 - in reference to the response from Marley Spoon published here, I have two questions - 1) why wasn't this matter of any importance to Marley before I posted this review? 2) as stated, I responded to a form email from the CEO. Odd that they care sooooo much but she couldn't take the time to respond to feedback SHE SOLICITED. This is a common practice amongst shady companies - they'll post a response to a negative review that, on the face of it, looks like they really are concerned and want to make things right. However, given multiple chances (out of the public eye) to make things right, they won't even respond.Don't be fooled, folks. I will respond to their customer service, as they requested, and see what happens. Further update to come.UPDATE 2/18/26 - I'm happy to report that MS has credited my account for the hosed-up box. Shame that I had to raise such a stink just to get the right thing done but at least it's now done. I've upgraded my star rating from one to four to reflect that in the end, things worked out.

We really wanted to love this service, but...

We really wanted to love this service. Unfortunately, out of 4 orders, not one delivery had a complete set of ingredients. Additionally, the customer's ability to change meals ordered and/or move delivery dates/times was lacking, which resulted in receipt of amounts and types of meals that were not desired. The recipes advertised were interesting and the ingredients received were high-quality, but, unfortunately, the delivery infrastructure/mechanisms just wasn't there, which makes participation with the service costly and frustrating.

Severely Contaminated Delivery, Dismissive Support, and No Refund — A Completely Unacceptable Marley Spoon Experience

I am extremely frustrated with my experience and am formally requesting a full refund for my most recent Marley Spoon order. When the delivery arrived, something inside the box had exploded, releasing a liquid with a strong vinegar odor that soaked nearly everything inside. Vegetables and other food items were completely contaminated, leaving me no choice but to throw away over half of the box for safety and sanitation reasons. This was not minor damage. This was a clear case of contamination that rendered a significant portion of the shipment unusable.Despite this, customer service refused to issue a refund. Instead, I was offered an estimated credit worth less than half the value of the box, and only as a future credit rather than a refund. This does not resolve the issue. I am now forced to go to the grocery store and repurchase items that should have been provided intact, while also being asked to place another order to even use the credit. That shifts the burden and cost entirely onto the customer. To make matters worse, the customer service chat was ended prematurely by the agent, without any clear resolution or confirmation, which is unacceptable when dealing with food contamination and loss.Given the extent of the spill, the contamination, and the lack of proper customer support, the entire box should have been refunded, not partially credited. This experience has been more of an inconvenience and financial loss than a service.Based on this experience, I strongly caution others. Stay away from Marley Spoon.

Absolute Scam

After researching forever and using Hello Fresh for years thought I'd try Marley Spoon. I got suckered by $253 off if you order now, figured it was definitely worth checking out. so go through the setup, they make sure to get your credit card early. Try to setup my first delivery and of course I don't have the promised promotion. I figured no big deal it happens, support isn't available, so all I can do is email. also since they've let me pick my recipes it auto orders and there is no way to cancel the incoming order. I completely cancelled my account with in 20 minutes of creating and it says "your last delivery is on it's way". There are way too many meal services to treat new customers this freaking bad.
