I have loved Imperfect Foods for literally six years, but in the last few months after merging with Misfits Market, they have gotten rid of their entire support team and replaced it with an AI chatbot. There is an "email" support team, but they don't get back to you until four or five days later.I have had them tell me my order is rescheduled two days in a row and then ghost me for four days, while I sat at home expecting a delivery. Their response is a $15 credit — and this is when I have spent almost ten thousand dollars with their company over the last six years. Five thousand of that is from the last year and a half alone. Now I'm sitting here late in the evening, one week after they screwed the pooch royally, and there's no sign of their delivery driver, no sign of the food they already charged my card $250 for, and no communication from anyone at the company as to what's going on. All day the chat bot has told me it will be here by 9pm, it will be here by 9pm.Now that it's after 9pm the chat bot says I can't ask for a refund until after 5pm tomorrow. Because the box will stay on the truck until it goes out for deliveries tomorrow? I am sorry, I'm not spending $250 on groceries that have sat in a truck all day and then overnight.Who on earth wants to spend $250 on groceries that have been sitting out for 24 hours? This went from a groundbreaking (and dare I say life-changing!) grocery delivery service to a sad sack of incompetents who fail at the most basic level of customer service.I should note that their three main competitors ALL have 24/7 chat and phone support, provided by *humans.*If Imperfect Foods had just communicated to me what I could expect — if just one person had reached out to manage my expectations — then I would still be their customer, and I wouldn't be writing this right now. That's a really low bar! But they failed to clear it.

There's always st least one item missing, and one item damaged. They also just forget to deliver your whole order without notice, so I hope you're not relying on getting your groceries.

BEWARE! they make you put in your payment information before you can look at what they sell. On top of them making you create an account for a subscription before you can determine if you actually want what they are selling, they said it could take up to 45 days for my information to be deleted when i went to delete my account all together. This seems very weird and they are not being transparent at all about their practices.

Woke up this morning to find a debit to my account. Did not order and they won’t take phone calls. This is a scam as I’m sure THEY are responsible for using my account fraudulently.

After using this company for several years, I haven't bought from them in a while. Since I'm a single adult & receive SSDI, they became too expensive to me vs. the local stores. Now they are overcharging for delivery & having customers subsidize their delivery drivers' wages with tips, PLUS charging a delivery fee that IF get to pocket.Recently, I kept receiving these 50% off coupon emails. I tried to log back in to take a look at the prices. Except now I could not see the prices without logging into my old account AND reactivating it. So at least for me, to view any prices, I had to sign back up.The prices were so high, that after 10 min. I immediately cancelled my account. I even received an email confirming this.Imagine my surprise when a week later, I get the following email from Imperfect Foods: "Oops! Payment failed—please update your card ASAP..."Luckily for me and since I'm on a limited income, they had my OLD cancelled card in their system still. And looking on other sites, such as the BBB, I see that they are doing this exact same BS to other users.Viewing other complaints with the SAME details, they are absolutely doing this ON PURPOSE. I even see some people stating they get charged twice, once from IF & once from Misfits Market. Given their new company policies, their money-grubbing CEO, their non-payment of Driver wages, their lies that all Drivers get to keep their tips (when they are actually pooled for ALL Drivers at once), plus their overcharging, missing items in your orders, sending out bad & expired food products, their stopped Recycling of packaging materials (they used to pick-up for free-not anymore!), & their over prices vs. any of your local stores, don't bother using Imperfect Foods. And for the love of all, if just wanting to browse or view prices, do not GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CORRECT CREDIT CARD / DEBIT CARD INFORMATION - BECAUSE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.

I’m sad to write this review. I’ve been with imperfect since the beginning! I highly value sustainability and the idea behind minimizing food waste was the biggest draw, and of course I love the idea of saving money and it being convenient to have a box of food show up in your doorstep. In the very beginning, I learned that anytime I ordered leafy greens, they would show up wilted so I chose to just never order that and everything else was great, my only other complaint was that you can’t choose your delivery date and mine is Friday, but I can deal with that. They have really gone downhill. A bunch of produce items you get come in plastic packaging now, which doesn’t happen at the grocery stores. And it’s hard to tell when ordering on the website because the photos don’t include the packaging. If you forget to customize your order, not only will they send you some random stuff, but they will send you A LOT of stuff that you get to pay for. Our average order price was around $60 or $70. I forgot to customize a couple weeks ago and received a $150 order. I understand it’s a subscription and I wouldn’t even mind that they take advantage of you not customizing by including way more than you’d usually get, but if they’re gonna do that, there should be a rule that they can’t just throw in a bunch of stuff you’ve never ordered before and don’t want, that starts to feel like a scam! I took that opportunity to do a price audit and compared every item to the price in my local grocery store and this really surprised me. While I saved money on many items, a ton of the items are the same price, and to my surprise a ton of items are actually more expensive with imperfect! On a $150 order from imperfect, I only saved $9 than if I had bought every item from my local grocery store. That isn’t enough to deal with a delivery date I don’t like, not being able to handpick the items myself and dealing with their wide range in quality, and deal with unnecessary harmful plastic packaging. Because of everything i just stated above, they were on thin ice. Another service they provided that I thought was awesome is *supposedly* they recycled some of the packaging - when you order refrigerated items, they come in an aluminum bag with an ice pack to keep it cold. You leave that stuff on your doorstep and when they bring you your new box, they take that stuff to recycle. This morning I caught the driver not taking that stuff with him and he told me they aren’t doing that anymore. I hopped on the support chat and it’s true, they no longer take that stuff back to reuse. I cancelled my subscription this morning. It was a cool idea and I loved it in the beginning but it’s not worth it anymore which is sad. Imperfect Foods, less than imperfect business. Bye!

For some reason, Imperfect Foods/Misfits Market advance notice of an upcoming delivery has been omitted so I only get a notice when they are ready to deliver what they choose to think I need--too late to change anything. The only solution has been to finally cancel the subscription since they don't respond to adding me back to their pre-order list after several requests. This delivery today is to amount to $150, which will put my bank account into overdraw with many things I would normally delete or not order. Since switching to an independent carrier, I get no advance notice so I can have my dolly ready to be loaded when they deliver. That leaves me with 5 bulging disks to pick up an extra-heavy box from the ground rather than having them simply placing it on my dolly. I also get delivered notifications sometimes several hours after it has been done, leaving me at the risk of porch pirates. This has been going on at least since the beginning of the year with bi-weekly delivery.

So, recently, I received an order with two boxes. The boxes had been crushed down to half their size. The contents of the boxes were actually okay since they weren't filled to the brim. Thing is, Imperfect Foods does their own deliveries, so they knew these boxes were crushed and delivered them anyway. They wanted a list of specific items in the order that got damaged so that they could reimburse only for those specific items. I told them that the items were okay, but I had gotten crushed deliveries two weeks in a row. It was starting to look like a trend. After numerous unanswered emails (they probably marked the ticket resolved with no items damaged $0 woohoo!), trying to call (phone support no longer available) and finally getting Jade in chat, they tossed me $10 off on my next order. In the meantime, I learned that since Misfits took over, the drivers subsist on tip wages, were deunionized and get one whole day per year of PTO. I don't blame the delivery drivers for delivering my crushed box. I blame Imperfect Foods. Update: Instead of completely cancelling the account, I cancelled my subscription and went to their flex plan, which I understood to be they would no longer autoload my cart. (I figured if I had a change of heart, it would be easy enough to select some vegetables for that week.) Approximately 10 days later, I got a reminder email and found they had automatically loaded my cart with $100+ worth of produce items. I removed all the items from my cart and fully cancelled my account. If I had done nothing, they would have charged me and delivered boxes in whatever condition. Apparently on the flex option, they will gladly help you buy groceries because it helps them stay in business!

Extremely disappointed this is not sustainable at all. They never take back the packages and the products do not seem to be rescued. I complained 5 times saying that they should take back my packages but never changed. Do not order.

Delivery is hit and miss, which is super problematic for groceries. Used to utilize them for over a year, then canceled because I didn't need them for a bit. Restarted, and in 4 months they've delivered one box out of six attempts. Canceled my subscription after a box went missing and screwed up 2 weeks worth of dinner plans. On top of that, it takes them five business days to return your money that they took without delivering anything.Save yourself the hassle and find a local grocer or farmers market.
