This place is a scam. My daughter bought tickets on the app and they added an extra ticket without choosing it and then you cant contact anyone for refund, Then I bought tickets and they did the same thing and of course no one to contact to get a refund. Bullshit

I use eventbrite to ticket my events

I use eventbrite to ticket my event company. There are a few tech things which could be improved but overall they are a great company to work with.

I’m really disappointed

I’m really disappointed with my experience at the Holi event organized through Eventbrite by UBCxSFU. When I purchased my ticket, the event was supposed to take place at Gallery Club in Vancouver. However, after the tickets were already sold, the organizers suddenly changed the venue without proper notice or explanation. The new venue was extremely small and not suitable for a Holi celebration. There was no bar, which was unexpected for an event like this, and the space felt overcrowded. On top of that, they didn’t even have enough colors for everyone, which is literally the main part of a Holi event.Overall, the organization was very poor. It felt unplanned and chaotic, and definitely not worth the ticket price. The only positive part was the DJ, who actually did a great job and kept the energy going despite everything else.Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend attending events organized like this in the future.

I’ve had a couple successful bookings through this website. But their ad advertisement for pub crawls Tacoma is a complete scam. Definitely never deal with pub crawls.com and after seeing the reviews for Eventbrite and there’s not well there’s only reviews at one star and nothing above.

Speed dating customers may not get full refunds

I found out as an organizer the ONLY way a customer gets a full refund is if I put that the event is canceled or postponed as the reason. Otherwise they will make me decide whether I or the affected customer pays THEM a fee. This is particularly bad for speed dating events because if the ratio of people are off then Eventbrite has forced me to choose between making me pay high fees, making the people in excess pay fees, or making me lie by stating the event is canceled/postponed when I never postpone dates and when its not canceled for some people. Its no wonder why so many people claim speed dating events are a scam because Eventbrite is part of the problem.

Do not use them!

My experiences have been that eventbrite should be called eventdark! 2 of the occasions I have HAD to use this money grabbing company. ONLY USE THEM IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE! If you have the misfortune to have to use them, think twice. Refunds are impossible to claim. Once because of a funeral. No reply. The second time (yes present tense), I can't even find the event to try and ask for a refund. The event isn't until saturday! I'm disgusted by the unhelpful T's&C's which include refund restrictions.I'd rather miss an event than book through this terrible site. It would have got zero stars if given the chance!

Contradicting own refund policies & non-existent customer support

If I could award 0 starts I would. I got scammed by the event organizers and Eventbrite refuses to refund my tickets even though my case fulfills their otherwise confusing refund policies. The AI chat is absolute garbage that has no idea what should be done. My request forms are always replied by the same auto-reply, contradicting their own refund policies.Do yourself a favor and never use this platform to buy tickets for anything. Waste of money, time, nerves...

Title: Celebration Of Life For EMADU RAHIM aka DJ RAKIM.

Unauthorised Sale of Tickets – Event Relating to My Late Husband, Emadu Rahim (24 April 2026)On 2 March 2026, I contacted Eventbrite after being informed that an event titled “Celebration Of Life For EMADU RAHIM aka DJ RAKIM” was being promoted and ticketed on their platform by a promoter known as “2 Shades.”This event was organised without my knowledge, consent, or agreement. As the lawful wife of the late- Emadu Rahim.I had not been consulted or informed in any capacity. The initial response I received from Eventbrite’s Customer Experience Team appeared supportive. I was advised that the matter would be taken seriously and referred to the Trust & Safety team for review. I was asked to provide documentation and further details to assist with their investigation. In good faith, I provided both my husband’s death certificate and our marriage certificate to substantiate my complaint and confirm my legal standing. However, only hours later, I received a response from the Trust & Safety team stating that, following a “thorough review,” the event did not violate their Community Guidelines and that no further action would be taken. The speed and nature of this response strongly suggested that no meaningful investigation was carried out, particularly given the documentation supplied.Despite clearly informing Eventbrite that the event had not been authorised by me or by my husband’s immediate family, my complaint does not appear to have been properly considered. Instead, I am now expected to review 21 sections of their Community Guidelines and submit an appeal in order to request further action. My husband passed away 17 weeks ago. It is deeply distressing that, during this period of grief, I am required to challenge a ticketing platform simply to have an unauthorised event removed.Eventbrite’s Community Guidelines makes reference to Misrepresentation and FraudIn my view their is potentially deceptive ticket marketing and financial exploitation through misleading promotional claims. The continued sale of tickets for an event presented as a “Celebration of Life” implies legitimacy and endorsement where none exists. This raises serious concerns regarding misrepresentation and the exploitation of a deceased person’s name.Furthermore, the public reviews on Trustpilot indicate a pattern of unresolved complaints, with a significant proportion of 1-star reviews receiving no response. This raises additional concerns regarding how such matters are handled.

You may want to self-examine your…

You may want to self-examine your company when 94% of your roughly 1,800 reviews are 1 star. I bought tickets to a comedy show in Vancouver, BC. I went all the way up there from Seattle and bought a hotel to stay overnight. I took an Uber to the first venue at which the show was supposed to take place, it was completely dark and empty. I took an Uber to the second venue and the lovely lady outside said the show I bought tickets to was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Shockingly, Eventbrite refused to refund me. The lady at the event even admitted the person organizing the show is some college kid who 'owned' the venue where the show was supposed to take place and he ran it into the ground. It's hard to image how Eventbrite could be a worse organization. Perhaps the worst customer service by a company that leaves it to the decent people at the venues to clean up their horrible mess. For shame.
