Misleading advice at point of sale and poor follow-up
I recently made a purchase of approximately £600 at Denby Pottery Village and, prior to paying, specifically asked a member of staff whether any discounts were available. I was advised that no discounts were available, so I proceeded with the purchase based on that information.Shortly afterwards, I discovered that many of the same items that I had purchased were available on the company’s official website with an additional 15% discount, resulting in a price difference of around £90. This is not a minor discrepancy. Consequently, I contacted their customer services team and was told that online and in store purchases are treated as unrelated within the company. They have since refused any form of resolution, citing internal separation between online and retail. I understand that online and in-store operations may be treated separately internally. However, as a customer, I engaged with one brand and made a direct enquiry at the point of sale to make an informed decision. At no stage was I advised that a significantly lower price was available through another official Denby Pottery sales channel. What makes this more disappointing is that I made the purchase in good faith, partly in response to the “Save Denby Pottery” campaign, intending to support the business during a difficult time. Unfortunately, it has been made clear that support is not reciprocated in how customers are treated. The issue here is not simply about pricing differences, it is about being given incomplete or misleading information when directly asking staff at Denby Pottery Village about available discounts, and then experiencing a lack of accountability afterwards.The matter was escalated to the UK and International Head of Sales / Sales Director, but as of 8th April 2026, I have not received any substantive reply or follow-up.A very disappointing experience overall, and not what I would expect from a well-known brand (Ref_Ticket:677).

Placed my order
Placed my order , no word from Denby at all. 2 weeks later I enquire and informed "we are really busy" so hopefully despatched in the next several weeks ! That's brilliant if it's a wedding gift or something else ,maybe be a christening gift by the time it arrives.Surely it's not difficult to inform customers ?

Excellent day-to-day pottery
Excellent day-to-day pottery - it isn't finest bone china, but that isn't what I want. I have had this for some time and accidentally banged plates together when loading the dishwasher - no damage at all and still looks great.Fantastic service when I ordered some more last week.
