A migration nightmare

I was moving from another hosting service to BlueHost. From the beginning, I had issues. The Apple login stopped working, and I had to change my email and send in documents to verify my identity. This gave me a red flag, but I tried to migrate my 18-year-old site with a massive database and a lot of posts to high-performance hosting. I paid the $150 for the” professional” migration. There were some issues, but once they were sorted out, my original site shows a 403 error. I couldn't investigate until 7 hours later. My FTP program wouldn't connect, so I had to check via the cPanel file manager. And other than six empty folders my site was gone. No WordPress files orAnything. I called Bluehost to inquire what happened and received an email stating that the professional migration failed. When I got through to a person, there was no compassion or empathy. The. He said it could have been hackers or bots. Only two people had access. My team and I so connect the dots yourself. It took me over 20 minutes to get a supervisor on the line who pretty much said the same thing as the other agent. Now, once they tried to apologize and acknowledge what was going on, they constantly deflected blame onto other people or things. Then the migration team needs greater access to my original host team. At this point, I did not trust them to complete the immigration. After talking to them, I went to my original host and was able to restore my site, and then promptly changed all my passwords on my C panel and also on WordPress the following morning. I called them and got a refund for both the hosting and the migration that never happened. I do not recommend them for any hosting and it seemed like every time I called I got bounced around to 3 to 4 people before actually getting to someone who could do what I needed to be done or answer any questions lastly, there was no way to contact the migration team to find out what was going on or what had happened. This seemed very odd to me as I’ve had other sites migrated on other toes and you could definitely talk to the migration teams.
