PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR…

PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION!! There's more than one item you have to cancel!I canceled my subscription in December. When checking my bank account week, I noticed I was still being charged by Blue Apron. I then realized they have set up their system where customers are signing up for 2 services and that just because you cancel your subscription doesn't mean you canceled your entire account. I canceled my subscription at the end of Dec. I was charged 9.99 on Dec 29, Jan, Feb, and March. They have purposefully set up their system in this way. It's shady and deceptive. If a customer cancels their account, why in the hell would they still want to pay them $9.99 for some BS???? Per the agent, the policy says they can only credit 2 of the charges. They 100% know what they're doing by having their system set up this way. How much do they make a month from customers like me that didn't realize the ENTIRE account was not canceled???? On a side note, we canceled because the menu options weren't great or changed out enough. The couple of recipes we liked were frequently unavailable/out-of-stock.

"Customer Service" is a joke

I've been getting meals from Blue Apron for just about a year and if this was a review just about the food quality, it would get 5 stars. Unfortunately, their CS is so awful that I cannot rate it above 1 star. Starting last month, I started getting emails about not being able to process my payment(s). Pretty weird, because I've been using the same card (Mastercard) since I signed up, and there are no credit issues with it. Nevertheless, I started using another (Mastercard) card, and that, too, was rejected. Here's the kicker. I don't get these "payment rejected" emails until 11:50pm at night on Monday nights--and the cutoff to make any changes--including payment changes--is 12midnight. (I didn't find that out until I started dissecting their website to find that information). So, what they were doing was sending me emails at 11:50pm at night and giving me 10 minutes to do something about it. It's safe to say that most people are sleeping at 11:50pm at night (including myself). But even after changing my card information, the payments were still getting rejected, and I was just getting no information from them at all. I finally wrote an email to their "customer service" email address, detailing all this information, expecting I would get at least an apology, an explanation, some assistance...NOPE! This was their reply, obviously it was an auto-reply: "We currently only accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay" Uh...it WAS a MasterCard, had anybody given 2 seconds to look it up. I gave that information in my reply. Never heard back. I wrote on Blue Apron's Facebook page. It was not replied to. Then, they had the gall to send me a follow up email a week later about "How would you rate our customer service?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Are there any human beings on their end or it it 100% A.I.? Needless to say, I cancelled any future orders and will never use them again. I'll stick with Hello Fresh and Home Chef, both of whom actually....get this...reply to their customers in case there are any issues. I would say "get a clue, Blue Apron", but at this point I just hope they go bankrupt.

Recipes are decent and portions are fair on the meal kit delivery. Had one missing ingredient in my last box which was annoying. Customer service sorted it out but still a bit frustrating

Heat and eat meals :(

I purchased 5 of the heat and eat meals from Blue Apron. The chicken tortellini Alfredo was horrible. The chicken was old, hardly any chicken in it to begin with. No Alfredo sauce in it! And tortellini were old and hard. I also Got and India rice and chicken dish. ONLY 5 tiny pieces of Chicken! Mostly rice, and again, only a dab of sauce! This is over priced, cheap sh*t

order changes

The menu was very good and we had a good experience with them until recently when they made a change to their website where you cannot make any changes to the preselected menu items. It never used to be the case before. For the life of me I don't know why they did that so I cancelled my subscription.

Good concept with room for improvement

Blue Apron delivers creative recipes and clear instructions. The meal quality is generally good, but portion sizes may feel small for some households.

Delivery service that can’t deliver

For a delivery service they are unable to deliver? Ever since they made changes a few months back their delivery has gone to the dogs Failed deliveries, deliveries after 9pm on a scheduled day.. just spending more & more money on food because they can’t deliver on time

Don’t bother

I used to love Blue Apron. Then they changed their entire model and went way downhill. OG Blue Apron had the occasional delivery issue or error in my box. Their customer service was very fast, and they aggressively corrected issues. With the model change, paid subscriptions were no longer required and the number of offered recipes increased significantly. Sounds great on the surface, but the reality wasn’t good. As a subscription holder, it was incredibly frustrating that many of the recipes I wanted to try sold out almost immediately. There was a huge increase in missing and damaged ingredients. The quality of some of the ingredients noticeably declined- their steaks, for instance, used to turn out great, but the last few times, even though they were cooked to a perfect medium rare and were the same cut I always got, they were so tough we couldn’t even eat them. Customer service switched to a text model, which sounds great, except they sometimes didn’t reply to your texts for three days at time, leaving you to wonder if they even received it, and they buried the other contact methods, making it harder to contact the company via other avenues. I had one box show up a day late- they tried to tell me they packed their boxes in a way that they could hold up for the extra day. I live in Arizona. Nothing holds up to this heat for an extra day. I temped the ice packs themselves when the box finally arrived, and even they were out of food safe temperature. They did credit me after I sent them the photos of the temps, but their argument was ridiculous to begin with. I finally got sick of them and cancelled. Meal kit deliveries are a dime a dozen these days. There’s nothing special about Blue Apron. Take your business elsewhere.
