The company is a scam

The company is a scam. Went to do a booking and their platform said the room was unavailable, so made other accommodations. They ended up still charging my card.

Corrupt scammers

I strongly believe this company is a scamming business. They are scamming people. Please please if the government reads these reviews... please shut this company down. I had a heart attack less than a year ago. They cancelled my booking and are not returning the money. They cancelled the booking themselves without my permission and messed up my vacation plans and also finances!!!! They said after 30 days they would return the money, then changed it to after 45 days, then changed it to after 90 days. Then they say it won't start until after the time I made a complaint... then they change it to another date way after that which I will need to start counting the days to 45 days then 90.... I have realized they just don't want to give the money back most likely. This is affecting my health because I had a heart attack less than a year ago and lately I have been so stressed out that I feel unwell. I wish there was some way for me to bring this to the attention of government officials or to take them to court. They are highly corrupt and should not be in business. They are not only affecting peoples finances but could also be affecting their health as well. In my honest opinion... they are evil and I personally believe in God and I believe he sees what these people are doing to other people. I will pray everyday that God will bring to light what these people are doing to the right people what these corrupt people are doing so it will be stopped and their business will no longer be allowed to operate. This has affected us a lot not only financially but health wise from the constant stress. It has been very traumatic. I have two bachelors degrees and graduated with the highest honors. I am no dummy. I know what is going on!!! They are trying to fool the wrong person because I am not dumb at all!!! Also there is absolutely no reason why it should take this long to return money which does not belong to them because a booking was cancelled by your people without the customer ever asking. My money does not belong to you and should not take this long to return. People do not have plenty of money to just throw out the window and wait and wait and wait for it to come back to them . People have bills, families, and expenses. It is extremely selfish, rude, inconsiderate, and lacking in customer service to the most extreme- very bad customer service!!!The question is why are you holding my money so long and what is it being used for that it can't be returned for so long. I have never ever experienced anything like this in my entire life. I have never had to wait this long for a refund ever. Something is up with this... it makes no sense at all. As I said I am no dummy. This company is very corrupt. Stay far away from them!!!!! I am very traumatized! Also I am no longer looking forward to vacationing anymore. And also worried I may have another heart attack from all of the stress.

Absolutely the worst booking experience…

Absolutely the worst booking experience ever. Avoid these liars at all costs. Having mistakenly booked the wrong dates, trying to change them is impossible. To make it clear , I contacted the hotel who were willing to move the dates, but never received any of the communications they had allegedly sent to the hotel by Agoda. I checked with hotel, who never received a call or email. Agoda even said they contacted the hotel and they had no room, totally untrue according to the hotel.Awful customer service and down right liars on all fronts, I spoke to 2 agents and they palmed me off with exact same excuses both times. Shocking, that's £150 of my hard-earned cash written off. Seriously avoid this shower of rubbish.

My experience with Agoda

My experience with Agoda , is that they have AI that communicates and no live agent. When you want to make changes to your hotel booking the website takes you to AI. I was not able to make changes to my booking and refund. I will never use them again. Horrible customer service.

Terrible if a world crisis occurs!

Normally I've had no problems with Agoda (I only book accommodation, I certainly wouldn't book flights)I've recently had to get refunds or cancel all my trip to Vietnam due to the current war in the middle east. The procedure was awful, as it's basically AI, which doesn't work for unusual circumstances.The hotel I booked with, agreed to a refund (even though I had passed the refund period) but Agoda and their third party refused to return the money.Not sure I'll be using Agoda again as it's left a bad taste. The problem is that most of these companies like Agoda are all owned by the same company. Best to book direct with Airlines and hotels.

Used them for five years and their…

Used them for five years and their customer service is getting worse and worse and worse. Now they’re not even confirming bookings immediately, so you have no idea about your travel plans. Responses are robotic and designed to provide no resolution.

I can see why they already have a low star rating

Headline: Agoda Withholding Authorized Refund – Stalling Tactics UsedReview Body:"I am extremely disappointed with Agoda’s deceptive refund practices. After a service issue, Agoda explicitly agreed to a refund and requested specific evidence, which I provided in full. However, they are now refusing to release the funds, falsely claiming an active credit card dispute exists.My financial institution has confirmed the dispute is closed and there is no hold on their end. Despite this, Agoda representatives told me I must wait until June 2026 to even ask for my money again. This is an unacceptable stalling tactic and a violation of their own agreement.I have officially filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). To any travelers considering Agoda: be aware that even when they admit you are owed a refund, they may employ bad-faith delays to keep your money. Booking ID: 954314410. Every day my refund is delayed the charge on my credit card is collecting interest. The website had a technical error of not confirming another booking until days later. So I double booked by mistake. It has taken way too much time and effort to correct an issue in which they were at fault to begin with.

Poor customer service and incidents management

I had a very stressful experience with Agoda regarding a flight booking (Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City).The airline changed my flight from March 29 to March 30 at the last minute, which would have caused me to miss my international flights later that same day. I urgently contacted Agoda for assistance, but I did not receive the level of support I expected in such a time-critical situation.The chat support felt impersonal and did not demonstrate a sense of urgency, empathy, or professionalism given the seriousness of the issue. I was repeatedly advised to contact the airline myself, despite the fact that I had booked through Agoda and needed immediate help.As a result, I had to arrange transport early in the morning and go to the airport several hours in advance to resolve the issue directly with the airline. Thankfully, the airline staff assisted me, and I was able to travel on the original day.While the schedule change was initiated by the airline, I expected Agoda to provide more effective and timely support. Being left to manage the situation alone during a critical moment was disappointing.I would recommend caution when booking flights through third-party providers if reliable customer support during disruptions is important to you.
