I think this set is a fantastic way to get a taste of German cutlery quality without a huge investment. While the stamped blades aren't the same as Wüsthof's pricier forged ones, I found they still hold a great edge and the comprehensive set of knives is perfect for a home cook. It's a reliable workhorse that covers all your bases and holds up well with a little care.
If you want a great alternative with forged German steel, the HENCKELS International Classic 7-pc Block Set is a solid choice and a frequent top performer. For a similar stamped style but in a modern design, the Cuisinart C77SS-15PK 15-pc Set offers even more pieces for a very affordable price.
