Types of Freight Delivery:
- In Person Freight Receipt: The carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery time. It is crucial to be home for the delivery. If you are not available to receive a scheduled delivery, you may be charged a delivery fee on your original payment method.
- Contactless Delivery Acceptance: With this option, you will be provided with a shipping date and tracking information. You do not need to be home for the delivery. The carrier will document the condition of the package and its location with photos once it is dropped off.
- In-Home Delivery: This is a premium service available only on select items. Products are shipped on a semi-truck and delivered to an agreed-upon location inside your home. The carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery time. If you are not available to receive a scheduled delivery, you may be charged a delivery fee.
Build.com Returns Policy
You can initiate a return for most items within 90 days of receipt. Once the item is received and inspected at the warehouse, a refund (minus return shipping costs) will be applied to your account.
To qualify for a general return, items must:
- Be in resalable condition, free from scratches or defects.

Yes, Build.com offers a call tag service for an additional fee. This is a convenience option for general returns that allows a UPS carrier to pick up a parcel shipment directly from your home or business.
This service must be set up through customer service and costs $8.00 per package, plus the cost of shipping. The total cost will be deducted from your refund amount. Once processed, the carrier will make up to three attempts to pick up the package(s).
